EXO’s DO (100 Days My Prince)

Besides being famous for his voice quality, Exo’s DO has shown his remarkable talent for acting, many times before through movies and dramas. But, with this historical drama starring alongside Nam Ji Hyun, DO once again proved his versatility, by portraying the role of a prince who lost his memories, to sheer perfection.

IU, EXO’s BAEKHYUN & SNSD’s SEOHYUN (Scarlet Heart: Ryeo)

Starring IU and Lee Joon Gi, this drama is famously known for having the saddest ending ever that fans are longing for a second season to this date. IU, is famously known for her tremendous acting skills but besides her, EXO’s Baekhyun as one of the playful Royal Prince’s and Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun as the last Princess of Baekje received equal praise for their successful representation of characters.

SUZY (Gu Family Book)

One of the best known Idol turned Actors, Suzy played the role of a skilled martial arts instructor alongside Lee Seung Gi, who portrays a half man & half beast character with the will to become fully human.

INFINITE’s L (Ruler: Master Of The Mask)

This was the first historical role by Kim Myung Soo (L) in which he plays the character of a butcher’s son who is forced to portray as the fake king behind the mask later onwards. He left the viewers in awe of his acting even behind a mask with his body language and tone for expressing various emotions.

B1A4’s JINYOUNG (Moonlight Drawn By Clouds)

Jinyoung received lots of love and praise for successfully portraying the role of a scholar and the Crown Prince’s childhood friend, marking this as his first historical drama alongside Park Bo Gum & Kim Yoo Jung.

APINK’s SON NAEUN (The Great Seer)

This drama tells the story of a gifted seer (Ji Sung) having the ability to see people’s past and future. Apink’s Naeun plays the younger version of the Healer (Kim So Yeon) in this drama who falls for the seer. She received many compliments for her acting skills here.


One of the most famous Korean web dramas, Splash Splash Love is the story about a high school girl who accidentally travels back in time to the Joseon Era where she falls in love with the King, played by Highlight’s Yoon Doo Joon.

ZE:A’s IM SIWAN & SNSD’s YOONA (The King In Love)

ZE:A’s Im Siwan & Girl’s Generation’s Yoona, both have established themselves as successful actors over the years. This drama deals with a love triangle between a monarch (Im Siwan), his childhood friend as well as bodyguard and a noblewoman (Yoona).


Park Hyung Sik has already made a name for himself in the acting industry with versatile roles whereas Shinee’s Minho has also appeared in several roles from time to time, but BTS’ V marked his successful acting debut through Hwarang, known for having one of the most star studded casts ever.

ASTRO’s CHA EUN WOO (Rookie Historian Goo Hae Ryung)

Many Arohas expressed their wishes to see Astro’s Cha Eun Woo in a historical drama after he appeared as the lead in My ID Is Gangnam Beauty. This wish was fulfilled after he played the role of Prince Yi Rim in the drama alongside Shin Se Kyung and received lots of love from around the world.

GOT7's JINYOUNG (Legend Of The Blue Sea)

Legend Of The Blue Sea starring Lee Min Ho and Jun Ji Hyun is a love story between a con artist and a mermaid transcending time and history. GOT7’s Jinyoung palyed the younger version of Lee Min Ho in the drama successfully delivering the character’s emotions.

SF9’s ROWOON (Extraordinary You)

The famous fantasy drama starring SF9’s Rowoon alongside Kim Hyeyoon is a story where the lead actors realise that they are just side characters in a comic world and are willing to change their fate. This is not exactly a historical drama but you can see Rowoon in historical role during the flashbacks.
